adding the usual vapid ^^^^THIS^^^^ doesn’t do anything to hurt you, does it? it’s just annoying but i don’t think it’d take up much more space than liking or reblogging alone would on the author’s dashboard.
and then there are the seemingly non-sequitur bits of information that make no sense to you but has it ever occurred to you that it might mean something to that person’s followers? when they add a comment or caption maybe you are not the intended target of that, all the time. maybe they wanted to say that thing on their blog instead of in the tags.
as long as people aren’t having super long roleplay sessions or arguments back and forth i don’t know why it is necessary to punish them for making comments this is a fun blogging website jesus
